Up before the sun.

A beautiful starlit early morning.

I only wake up this early when I'm in a tropical place.

Excited to greet the day.

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day.

Turning the house into our home.

Nothing like a little paint to change the feel of a room.

Planting the Farm

These little guys are ready to move out of the nursery.
Time to get out the tools and build another garden box.

My carpenter skills are improving I think.
This is the biggest garden box so far.

Baby plants in their new home.
Room to grow.

Here it is,
" Week four in the life of a Zuchini Seed ! "
Nature at work, pretty amazing.

Sunday Morning Sunrise

The sunrise in a frame.

This bird watches over the garden.

Nobel bird.

Time to gather breakfast.

Three weeks in the life of a zuchini seed.

It's gripping isn't it?

Now you have to wait a whole week more for the next episode.

New Years Eve

It's New Years Eve.

We had one guest, but found it a little strange the way he kept his snorkel on all night. He drank quite a lot too. Oh well, he was entertaining.

We took a walk in the dark to the top of the mountain and looked down at the lights of Poipu. There were a few fireworks going off here and there, but the moon and stars stole the show. The clear skies, bright stars and the sharp crescent moon were all framed by the darkness over the ocean. From the top of that hill in the dark we really could feel the sense of being out on a island in the middle of the Pacific. I felt like we could wave to Fiji from there. What a sweet, peaceful, beautiful place this is. Up there it truly was a silent night, starry night, holy night.

When we got back to the house John did a firework show for us.

Best wishes to the world for 2009.
If only peace and the aloha spirit could take place all over the earth.

Projects for John

Alright, the TV stand is together.

The chipper for the garden, what a cool machine. Turns all that green waste into useful mulch.

The Stuff

The phone rang during breakfast and it was the moving company calling to tell us that they would be at our house with the truck full of our stuff in 30 minutes. That's exciting. We quickly move the cars out of the garage and park them next door to make room for the big truck with our big crates. Everything was wrapped in brown paper so it was hard to tell what was what. Made opening everything up kind of fun. Then it began to feel overwhelming, where are we going to put all of this stuff! As it turns out we did a pretty good job of deciding what to take with us, everything found it's place.
